Complete Swimming Pleasure with a Pool Heater

Residential swimming pools, over time, have become increasingly popular. One of the main reasons of their popularity seems to be the fitness that regular swimming provides. Unlike jogging and workouts, which one is prone to procrastinate; residential swimming pools provide convenience of swimming without having to go out. Another factor that has added to the popularity of residential swimming pools is that of their recently found affordability. However, cold climates make it practically impossible to swim unless you have a swimming pool heater installed.

Electric heaters are expensive to run and can be dangerous too. The best option among heaters for your pool is that of a solar swimming pool heater. Solar heaters are easy to install and unlike other solar devices solar pool heaters work in a pretty simple manner. They are put up on the roof or near the pool. A pump sucks water from the pool through a filter into the solar collector. Water is heated in the collector and the pumps forces water back into your pool.

A soar swimming pool heater warms the water to an extent that makes for comfortable swimming in moderately cold climates but is not very effective in the colder months. On a sunny day, a solar heater is capable of raising temperatures by seven to ten degrees. This translates into extended your swimming months from a paltry two to three month period to a period of five to six months a year.

Your pool size and the climate of your region are the major factors that will help you decide on the size of solar swimming pool heater you should buy. The price of the heater depends upon on the size of the heater and the size depends on the number of solar panels it has. For a 18 feet by 24 feet pool a set of two panels of 2 feet by 20 feet should be sufficient to give the required temperature. For bigger pools, however, you would require more panels. The current cost is in the region of $125 to 175 per panel.

Gas and electric heaters are expensive and cumbersome. Buying a solar heater makes sense in more than one ways. Unlike other equipment that you buy, solar swimming pool heater does not require any maintenance. It is imperative, however, to check the filter regularly and to maintain balanced water chemistry. The icing on the cake is that buying a solar heater involves   only a one time expense and there is no running cost.

When you have a swimming pool in your house, it is but natural that you would like o derive the maximum benefit from it. The very purpose of buying a pool is defeated if you are no able to use it during the months when the water becomes too cold for comfort. In order to get full value for the money you spent on a pool the one thing that you can surely rely upon is a swimming pool heater.
